The Far Country

[column class=”column-left”]

In January 2005, Mondo Bizarro participated in a workshop with students from the Nunez Community College Department of Theater Studies to produce Alan Walter’s bold play The Far Country.  Alan Walter is a New Orleans playwright who was commissioned to re-write this script that was first produced in conjunction with Swine Palace Theater in Baton Rouge, LA.

This dark and poetic tale illuminated the damage caused by lies and family secrets through the story of a small town Louisiana preacher and his ignoble past, which ironically revisits him through his son’s choices.  Our eight-week rehearsal process resulted in six critically acclaimed live performances at the end of January.
